This was the first year for the WA region and we have spent most of the time complying to the requirements of APANA. The first RC has been elected and virtual account established for the region.
The membership which started strongly last year has declined a little. This was due to the strong competition between ISPs in Perth.
The region has moved from a 14.4k connection to Connect.com to a 28.8 connection to Southern Access Communications and has found that the new link has performed much better then the old one.
Much time was spent looking for a place to relocate the HUB and the search continues.
It is expected that in the coming year the WA region will be overhauled which hopefully will give it a good growth rate.
